Once candidates announced their bids for president, I was able to quickly narrow down the Democratic Party side to two candidates. Senators Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama each had characteristics that were increasingly appeasing to the “new-age” America: something different.
Months ago, I challenged registered American voters to choose the person they wanted to lie to them for the next four years. The Republican side is pretty much sewed up by United States Senator John McCain. The Democratic side, however, isn’t so cut and dry. They are currently engaged in a fight-to-the-death brawl that will only end in blood shed. Or at least hurt feelings.
For some time, I had elaborate plans to stick it to ‘The Man.’ I wanted to vote for Hillary Clinton. I wanted a woman to break through the ‘good ol’ boy’ system that seems to wreck havoc on tax dollars and unsuspecting interns alike on Capital Hill. I wanted to vote for a woman who would show the antiquated system that women could be effective and efficient leaders, specifically in the political arena. I wanted someone to have the chance to change the policies, create better systems for a better state, country and world. When the Louisiana primaries came along, I was definitely voting for Sen. Clinton.
That is, until, I heard some of the dumbest things spew from this woman’s mouth since the 2004 Presidential debates with current President George Dubbya.
Hillary Clinton, for lack of a better word, is a hater.
While I understand negative campaign tactics and the advantages of bringing your competition’s flaws to light, nothing that Sen. Clinton has done thus far has impressed me at all. Instead of talking about her agendas, shining lights on her achievements and accomplishments, and hyping both herself and her campaign up, Mrs. Bill Clinton insists on hating through and through.
Sen. Clinton, or some piss poor planning by some campaign minion, thought that Black America was slacking on their end of the caucus and primary votes and decided that what we needed was our real first ‘black’ president, former President William “Bill” Clinton. Bill, with his shucking and jiving trumpet playing, non-exhaling weed smoking self, was brought in to sway blacks to support the adulterer’s wife. As soon as I saw this misstep by the Clinton camp, another mental demerit was taken away from ‘Hill.’
Hillary Clinton is not a personable candidate to me. She looks like she may administer an open handed slap to my face, or a closed fist punch to my chest if I ask her a question about her foreign policy agenda, or how she feels about the horrible treatment in regard to blacks that her husband’s administration made for affirmative action. She scares me, to be honest. I’d prefer my presidents to lie to me with a smile on their faces and a twinkle in their eye. I’m glad Louisiana agreed with me for our state’s primary.
Besides, I think she’s more suited to be a Republican anyway, don’t you think?
