DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Authorities say a Bethune-Cookman University football player was charged with attempted felony murder after he pulled a shotgun on a man who owed him money.
A jail official says Brandon Wright is being held in the Volusia County Branch Jail on several charges including trafficking cocaine within 1000 feet of a school, home invasion robbery and false imprisonment. Some of those charges do not have bonds.
Authorities say Wright was arrested last Monday at his dorm room. Police say Wright was dealing drugs to make ends meet.
