This is an awesome album, and I can see where the Top 40 crowd just won’t get it. It’s just not that type of record. Anyone can mimic whatever’s popular and can make ‘a hit’ that will get played in the club and on the radio. Obviously Miss Badu is more concerned with making ‘good’ music, being creative, unique, and slipping in a message or two. This album is definitely appreciated by Erykah’s ‘real’ fans, and it’s so desperately needed in this era of crackin’ 40’s and shakin’ booties.. When recommending it, I just tell people that they might have to listen to it a couple of times before it grows on you, but it’s so worth it.

THE BONE STRAIGHT TRUTH ABOUT RELAXERS
Well, I have to say that this article makes you think twice about applying relaxers to your hair. I’m a black American male and I’ve had my mom put relaxers and curls on my hair when I was growing up. When I wear my hair natural most black Americans tell me I should put a relaxer on it or get a hair cut. I feel like we black people are not accepting of the natural look. We feel like we have to have the straight look. I just ignore the negative comments and keep it natural now. I wear my hair in an afro, braided, or sometimes I go straight with a hot comb, at least I’m not damaging my hair as much as with a relaxer and don’t have deal with the chemical burns most people get from applying one.

ARE MEN, WOMEN DIFFERENT?
A relationship is not about sex, so if a man doesn’t turn a women on why should she have sex with him, obviously he’s lousy at that. Men just cheat because they can’t stop thinking about sex. Their penis is always in their brain. That’s also why woman make more successful leaders in the business world, because while men are thinking about sex, women are doing their work.

BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA IS NOT MY SAVIOR
Kudos to you, sister, for having the courage to say what a lot of black people are intimidated into not saying. I find it mighty curious that many of the same folks who not long ago were claiming former President Bill Clinton as “The First Black President” and embracing Hillary as well, are suddenly hardened opponents of Hillary. I have to admit that I am still undecided about our two great candidates. If I do vote for Obama, it will not be because he’s black or because he is “winning”; I will vote for him because I believe he is the best candidate. Please, people, stop attacking, judging and ridiculing those black people who are for Hillary. There is noting wrong with supporting her.

BLACK COLLEGES ARE STILL NEEDED
I am a Hampton University student working on a paper, about are historically black schools still needed, and have they outlived there usefulness, I will have to say, I truly enjoyed this article and I will be citing some of the things you have stated. A wonderful article, I wish more african americans would support what has been given to us, rather than trying to tear our institutions down.

U.N. CRITICIZES TREATMENT OF BLACK KATRINA VICTIMS
Forget about what goes on in China, Cuba, Tibet and other countries! The news media and government incites hatred against these countries but turn a blind eye to the human rights violation that has been practiced and perpetrated here in America.

DEATH OF COURTEOUS, GENTLE STUDENT STILL UNKNOWN
It is always a terrible thing when someone so young dies. It is even worse when the cause is not known. I hoped that they checked for meningitis, which sometimes kills college students in a mysterious way.

STYLING IN THE WHITE TEE
I love white t-shirts. Being a good-looking black man, my white t-shirt looks good on me. I wear a plain white t-shirt with every outfit. I make sure that my white t-shirt is shown around my entire neck. I walk around with my plain white t-shirt in my mouth all the time. Some people do a double take at looking at me. I don’t care because I feel cool chewing on my white t-shirt.
