When it comes to the term food stamps, it can be taken in a different way but when I think of it, I think of free food. I believe every college student that is full time should be able to receive food stamps. I’m not speaking for everyone when I say this but when it comes to me, I get my money from my parents and I have to stretch it and sometimes food is not in that budget at the time so I spend more money trying to eat out. Free food to a broke college student is music to my ears. Money doesn’t grow on trees but I’m not saying you don’t have to work for it, but to have a little more help and assistance would be greatly appreciated. When I started college in 2021, as long as you were a student, part or full time , you were eligible for food stamps, but as of today that is not the case. You have to meet a certain requirement in addition to that to even apply to get through the approval process. In my opinion, it shouldn’t be a requirement or eligibility to begin with due to the fact that we are college students. Most of us are broke college students and food stamps would be a token that would be greatly appreciated. Not only that, but anybody could be going through anything and that could be one of the things that helps them through it. Also another thing would be the fact that groceries have completely sky rocketed. you can go into a store and get five items and spend $50, when you can get more groceries for that price using food stamps. Once again, I believe every college student should be able to get food stamps without having to get approved or reach a certain requirement. It would make all of our lives better if I do say so myself.
