Spring is here. Sunny days, good weather, and good food, but most importantly, spring football is back on the bluff. Spring football is one of the best periods in the football year. Everyone thinks the regular season starts in the summer during conditioning or fall during training camp. It starts in the weight room in January, right after the regular season ends. Truth be told, there’s no real such thing as an “Offseason” in football because of how short the season is and the time it ends. Colligate football starts right back up for winter workouts in January, which is when the regular season starts. It gives the players time to rebuild and add to their physics. Most importantly, it puts their mind ahead to mentally prepare their bodies for summer camp, fall camp, and then the official regular season in the fall. The Jags have been working tirelessly and grinding it out in the “Iron Hole” since January. Most recently, the Jags officially started spring football practice nearly 2 weeks ago, and as time goes by, the spring game approaches. Many fans and students wonder what the Jags have done differently in the past months to put the program back on top and ball out this upcoming regular season. Since The Gaves Edition has begun, it looks promising for the future, and a complete administration has been put together for the success of these student-athletes and the program. The defensive side has been grinding and putting in those reps to uphold the reputation of the “Dog Day Defense.” Even though the offensive side has had its struggles from the previous season, our new offensive coordinator, Mark Frederick, and the rest of the offensive staff have been developing our jags, including quarterback Noah Bodden. Be sure to look out for an explosive playstyle from the offense. It’s only been a few weeks since they started practicing, but showtime is right around the corner. Jag Nation can’t wait to see what The Graves Edition has to show on April 13th.
