History, pride, and unshakable sisterhood filled the air on Friday, February 21, 2025, as the Alpha Chapter of Omega Tau Pi Sorority, Inc. celebrated 31 years of excellence. But this wasn’t just any Founders’ Day—this was the day they reclaimed their rightful place on Greek Row.
The atmosphere was electric as Sorors, past and present, gathered to honor the legacy of their sisterhood. Among those in attendance was one of the esteemed founders, Zanovia Chube Curtis, along with National President Tonya Lewis and chapter advisor Latasha Hunt. However, the most groundbreaking moment of the day came when Advisor Hunt delivered a long-awaited announcement:
“We got our tree back!”
A wave of joy and celebration erupted as the sisters flocked to their beloved tree, a symbol of their perseverance, unity, and deep-rooted legacy on campus. The tree, once removed from Greek Row, had finally been restored—signifying more than just a location, but a reclaiming of history and identity.
The Legacy Lives On
For members like Sophomore Nursing and Chapter Parliamentarian Amari Smith, this Founders’ Day was nothing short of inspiring. “I am excited! Meeting my other Sorors today has been incredible—they have so much wisdom and knowledge to help me grow as a person.”
Junior Nursing Major and chapter chaplain Tristian Perry shared her heartfelt experience, “Being in my first Greek organization and celebrating Founders’ Day makes me feel more included on campus than ever before.”
Founder Zanovia Chube Curtis, reflecting on 31 years of Omega Tau Pi’s impact, expressed her pride: “I am elated! We built this organization on sisterhood, leadership, networking, and community service, and to see it thriving today is a dream fulfilled.”
Advisor Latasha Hunt added, “Watching these young women grow into phenomenal leaders is truly heartwarming. Many of them, I’ve known since they were freshmen, and seeing them blossom makes moments like this so special.”
A Future Rooted in Strength
As the sisters of Omega Tau Pi continue their legacy, they invite supporters to stay connected and witness their journey by following them on Instagram (@omegataupi_subr).
With their tree back on Greek Row, their legacy is stronger than ever rooted, thriving, and unstoppable.

It warms my heart tremendously to see that Omega Tau Pi is continuing the legacy of sisterhood! I have been a a sister since Fall 1997 and still keep in contact with many of the members. All of your “seasoned” sisters are here to support you and when you need help don’t hesitate to reach out to us! Love you all! ❤️

As one of the founders of THE Omega Tau Pi Sorority, Inc. this is absolutely one of the proudest moments in our 31 year history.
We’ve shared wins and tragic losses over the years. The meaning of this moment reaches deeper than many can imagine.
I know our founding sisters (01) “Isis” -Vonnie Trimble and (05) “Know-it-all” – Kayla Ford would be proud of the work and commitment of restoring what is ours!
The BEST is certainly Yet to come!

Zanovia, has been a friend and mentor for over a decade for me. It is no surprise to see her sisterhood and leadership in her Chapter! I wish them all many more years of success!❤️

Everyone of the D9 had to have an ‘origin’ and as late, to date, 1963 with the 9th entry we are open to community service collegiate organized organizations. Congrats to many years and the evolution of recognition
