The Lady Jaguars of Southern University dropped two softball contests Wednesday: 2-0 and 5-2 to the Lady Colonels of Nicholls State University.
In the first game, Nicholls State’s Teri Clouatre went 2 for 3 with an rbi and a double and Lindsay Coleman went one for two with one rbi enroute to the 2-0 win over Southern. Nicole Wagner picked up the win for Nicholls State, while Samisha Bledsoe took the loss for SU.
Monique Kendrick picked up the only hit for the Lady Jaguars.
In game two, Lindsay Coleman’s pinch hit home run in the top of the eighth inning broke open a tied game in extra innings, propelling Nicholls State to a 5-2 win and a double-header sweep over the home-standing Lady Jaguars. Four different Lady Colonels picked up rbi’s in the game.
For Southern, Robyn Lewis went one for three with a rbi, as Kendrick, Jayme Roberts, Cashara Edgerson and Lewis all picked up hits for the Lady Jaguars.
Southern will return to action again on Thursday, when they travel to Pineville to take on Louisiana College in a double header starting at 2 p.m.
