It has been three years since I stepped on the yard as a student and 20 since I became part of the Jaguar family. Thank you to The Creator for the ability to write, my parents for their support, and my editors for their guidance.
Thank you B.J, Gabby, Janene, Gary, Kendra and especially Hackett, who has known me longer than he would like to recall. Thanks to the readers who gave feedback, good or bad; for, as any good writer knows any feedback is positive because it meant someone read it.
As a child, I never doubted that I would attend Southern. what I didn’t know then was that I would become a member of the most prestigious and accomplished African Americans in the world. It has been an honor and a privilege.
Graduates, led the way. You have received a degree, that doesn’t mean its time to rest, but indeed it is time to work. We are the future, the ones to pave the path. The struggle has only begun.
To the ones we leave behind, stop complaining. Complaining leaves you sitting in the dust of progress. Join the Digest, take a part in student politics, hell, demonstrate your right to free speech. It is a God-given right to have an opinion and a choice, choose to do something positive for a change.
Lastly, goodbye to those who made my collegiate career unique.
Thank you to the 10 of 10, the CUTE 14 So Fresh and So Clean, and last but definitely not least, the 8 or 84, from the 60. Peace, Love and Soul.
Daddy, I’ll see you in the fall…
