All officially registered students in the Southern University and A&M College System and the Southern University Law Center are automatically enrolled in a Supplemental Health and Accident Health Insurance Plan. For students on the Baton Rouge Campus and the Law Center, the insurance plan in a supplement to the services provided by the Student Health Center (SHC).
Students who are officially enrolled for the Spring Semester and will not attend the Summer Session may purchase medical insurance for the summer in order to maintain continuous coverage. The premium for the summer coverage is mailed directly to the insurance company.
The enrollment period for Summer coverage is May 26 through June 26. No enrollment will be accepted after June 26. Coverage for the Spring session ends May 25.
Summer enrollment forms for summer coverage may be obtained from the Insurance Coordinator at the Student Health Center.
