The Southern DIGEST continued to demonstrate its pursuit of journalism excellence at the 123rd Annual Louisiana Press Association Convention in Monroe.
The DIGEST received seven awards in the Student Newspaper Competition, including placing second and third place for the Best Staff Generated Paper (featuring color over 1/4 page).
Photo/Graphics Editor Ryan P. Knight received second place for Most Effective Use of Graphic Design and former Editor-in-Chief Brandi J. Thomas placed third. Thomas also received first place for Best General News or Feature Photo.
Sports/Copy Editor Nikki G. Bannister placed third for Best Column and The Southern DIGEST placed third overall in General Excellence.
