24th ranked Southern bowling team chosen to compete in sectionals

BIRMINGHAM, ALA – Three Southwestern Athletic Conference Bowling teams have been named to continue their seasons in 2003. SWAC Champion, Southern University, and Grambling State will advance to the College Bowling IBC Sectional Qualifier to be held in Las Vegas, March 22-23, 2003. Alabama A&M has been selected to compete in the Chesterfield, MO Sectional Qualifier on the same date.
According to Collegebowling.com Team rankings, the Lady Jaguars of Southern University are ranked 24th in the country in women’s bowling. The Lady Tigers of Grambling State are ranked 38th, and the Lady Bulldogs of Alabama A&M are ranked 57th.
There are 64 men’s and women’s teams competing in sectional qualifiers, and the top four teams will have an opportunity to advance to the 2003 Intercollegiate Bowling Championship in Tulsa, OK.
