Scenic Hwy Enhancement Project Action Meeting
Working Interfaith Network is holding a project action meeting to communicate the progress of the Scenic Highway enhancement project. Featured speakers include: Bobby Simpson, Baton Rouge mayor-president, Dr. Edward Jackson, Southern University Chancellor, and area political figures. The meeting is scheduled for Monday, December 9 at 7 p.m. at the Scotlandville Magnet High School Auditorium.
Christmas Toy Drive
The Southern University Chapter of the NAACP will be hosting a Christmas Toy Drive. Please donate new and used toys. The toys will go to benefit young boys and girls. Boxes will be set up for donations in the lobby of each building, dormitory and in the Student Union. For more information call 771-4918.

TODAY (December 6, 2002) is the last day this semester that The Jaguar Yearbook will be taking pictures for the 2003 publication in the Camellia Room Smith-Brown Memorial Union from 9 a.m – 5:30 p.m.

Southern University Prayer Warrior Cell Group
The Southern University Prayer Warriors Cell Group is still meeting at the Baptist Student Center every Monday at noon. We are praying for the Southern University family, administrators, faculty, staff, students, and their families. Advent prayers preparing for Christmas will be offered every hour on the hour for 15 minutes beginning at 7 a.m. and ending at 9:15 p.m. on Saturday, December 7. All are welcome. Mass will be held this Sunday, November 24 at noon and on Sunday, December 1 and December 8 at 11 a.m.
SGA Clean-Up Day

A GIFT OF PRAISE HOLIDAY DRAMA
Dr. and Mrs. Tommy O. Linton, Jr. and the Life Changers Christian Center will host a Christmas play performed by Youth Connection, Friday, December 20, 2002 at 7:30 a.m. at the church facilities located at 9714 Greenwell Springs Road at Platt Drive in the Winn Dixie/Park Forest Shopping Center. LIGHTING OF CHRISTMAS TREE IN JAGUARLAND CEREMONY
The Department of Residential Housing will have its annual “Lighting of the Christmas Tree in Jaguarland Ceremony” Wednesday December 4 at 4:45 p.m. in front of Shade and Totty Halls. Special guests will be the Pre-Kindergarten class at Southern Laboratory, students from the Southern University Head Start Center, and the pre-kindergarten class of Harding Elementary. Come out and give Santa your “Wish List” and sing carols in the spirit of Christmas. Refreshments will be served.

STUDENT CAREER EXPERIENCE PROGRAM
The Student Career Experience Program is offering student employment with the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Forest Service. The program is designed to integrate classroom study with paid work experience, with the objective of preparing the student for responsible placement into the Forest Service’s permanent workforce. The program is aimed primarily at sophomore and junior students pursing a bachelor’s degree, and those students pursuing a mater’s or doctorate degree in a field, which, upon graduation, will provide the academic background, knowledge, and skills, required for the target position.
