You know, Doug Williams is the sorest loser that I have ever seen. He mentioned something to the effect that although Southern has won the Bayou Classic; we still want to be where they are going, which is the SWAC Championships. Who doesn’t want to be in the championships? But, nobody truly cares about the SWAC Championships unless Southern is there. The masses are going to remember the 2002 season when Grambling State went undefeated in the SWAC until the very last game of the regular season and let Southern get all up in that––oops, almost lost myself in the heat of bragging.
Anyhow, kudos to Coach Pete and the crew and especially the football team. I hope that I haven’t offended anyone too much. I tried not to write about one’s personal behavior or write in tabloid fashion and I do hope that you all respect that.
But let’s talk about the quarterback at Grambling. No wonder the boy is throwing over 4,000 yards and rushing half the length of the field. Have you all seen how big he is? Williams must slop the hogs to fatten them up for Bruce Eugene to eat.
Nothing personal, but after all the crap we have heard from those Grambling folks, especially those in the stadium who brought their own lunches in aluminum foil because they were too cheap to buy food from the concessions, we deserve to send a low blow.
I know that we in the SWAC West are supposed to stick together, but to those at Alabama A&M (including Dr. John Riche), give them a good fight for me. And I will see you all there.
In conclusion, in keeping with the holidays, I have drafted up a little poem. I am so proud of it, I turned it in for a grade.
THE GRINCH WHO STOLE GRAMBLING
(in tune with ‘Twas the Night Before Christmas)
Two nights after Thanksgiving
And all through the town
Everybody was stirring
Especially Doug the Clown
No one thought it would be
No one, not even Gramblin’
Could ever imagine
The butt-whippin’ Southern would hand them
They said it would be a catfight
They said it would be a blowout
But it was the true Jaguar Nation
That failed to have doubt
So Gram goes to the SWAC
And we stay at home
But isn’t it funny
That Doug was pissed when he was gone?
That score in the end
Really had Doug rambling
Now the legend of Coach Pete
Is known as the Grinch Who Stole Grambling.
