Southern University football player, sophomore right tackle Perry Davis has demonstrated to be a high achiever on the football field and in the classroom.
Davis was selected as a member of the 2002 Coca-Cola All-Academic Team.
” I am very ecstatic about receiving this award,” said Davis. ” I am trying to balance football and my school work by studying every chance I get and being attentive in class.”
The New Orleans native is a therapeutic recreation major, and has maintained a 3.3 grade point average. On the field this season he has made 43 total tackles and four sacks. Outside of school, Davis is active in his church where he is an usher and does community work.
” At this point in my career I can only see myself continuing to succeed. I only see my career going up from here.”
