Tarrance Lockhart, I’m so sorry that you feel the way you do. Fortunately, I don’t share your comments.
First of all, the administrators here at Southern University have done a fair job with understanding and implementing some of the needs of the students. And yes, there are still some things that have to be recognized for the potential growth of students and the college, but it will take lots of effort on the administrators, faculty, staff and STUDENTS behalf.
You mentioned that the faculty/administration is not supportive and don’t have the best interest of the students at hand. That statement is so unfair!
There are administrators, professors, instructors, and staff members across the campus that take great pride in helping and assisting the need of the students. One for instance, is the teacher/assistant/student coordinator in Family and Consumer Sciences, Mrs. Iris G. Butler. She has consciously taken the need of all the students she coordinates and placed them first in the division. She goes over and beyond the call of duty at Southern University to assistant the students, and that’s just for starters. There are many others walking in the same shoes as hers that realize the importance of the students at this university. Just know that change is coming.
It doesn’t help the situation at all to badger the administrators or anyone for that matter. We can accomplish a lot more together than separated.
If you are looking for someone to feel the same as you do, well you might have one or two that do, but you should feel very lonely out there all by yourselves.
You are correct, change starts with oneself. But change should also be positive!
I love ya, my brother.
