PARKING NOTICE
The gravel faculty and staff parking lot located behind the Engineering and Nursing Building #120 will be closed for four (4) weeks for pavement improvements. Beginning Mon. Nov. 19, 2001 cars will be towed at the owners expense if parked in this area. Motorists are encouraged to park at the F.G. Clark Activity Center. Graduating seniors don’t get left out! The deadline for ordering your cap and gown has passed. If you do not order them by Friday, Nov. 30, 2001, you will not have a cap or gown for graduation. CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING
IN JAGUARLAND
Christmas is a time of great joy and anticipation for children of all ages. The Department of Residential Housing in conjunction with the meaning of Christmas will have “Lighting of the Christmas Tree in Jaguarland” Ceremony. This ceremony will include residence hall students and staff. The program will be shared with students from pre-k class at Southern University Head Start Center. A Christmas tree will be placed on the service street in the area of Totty and Shade halls. The pre-k and nursery school students will be given ornaments to complete the decoration on the Christmas tree. The tree will be lighted at the beginning of the ceremony. Santa Claus and Lacumba will be there, in addition to Christmas music and caroling. SU is invited to attend. For more information, please Marilyn hill @ 771-3590.
CAMPUS CLOSURE
FOR HOLIDAY BREAK
Effective Wed. Dec. 19, 2001 @ 6 p.m. until Wed. Jan. 2, 2002 @ 6 a.m., the only entrance to Southern University campus will be via Harding Boulevard. Because of security reasons, a checkpoint will be set up on Harding Boulevard. Traffic will be monitored 24 hours a day on Swan Street. All faculty, staff and visitors must produce a Southern University ID or driver’s license as identification for clearance. Department heads must submit a letter notifying the Police Department of those persons required to work during the holidays. Officers will not allow anyone on campus without proper identification.
