The Southern University Lady Jaguars soccer team extended a helping hand on Friday evening assisting in cleanup efforts at the Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church, one of the Louisiana Department of Social Services emergency food stamp sites for East Baton Rouge.
“We just wanted to do something to help the people who are helping everyone else recover from the hurricanes,” said senior captain Almarie Soto-Ortiz.
