Nevertheless, the early lead by the Lady Tigers did not stop the Lady Jaguars from coming together and attempting a comeback. The team persevered and worked hard throughout the game, with redshirt sophomore outfielder Asia George putting on a standout performance that allowed the Lady Jaguars to score their first run in the bottom of the third inning. Both teams displayed their talent and athleticism as the innings continued, delighting the spectators with strong hits and outstanding defensive efforts. The Lady Jaguars battled fiercely to cut the gap and restore momentum, and as a result, the game’s intensity peaked. Unfortunately, the Lady Jags’ attempt at a comeback fell short as the Lady Jags would lose 4-1.
After a hard-fought battle against the Lady Tigers of Jackson State, the Lady Jaguars of Southern University are turning their focus to the next challenge awaiting them. Despite falling short in their recent game, the team remains undeterred, recognizing the loss as an opportunity for growth and improvement. Freshman pitcher Jordynn Jennings for the Lady Jaguars expressed the team’s resilient mindset in the face of adversity. “We should recover in practice and be more determined at practice,” Jennings remarked. “I believe a loss really is not a loss for us, and we can always learn from it.” While the team gets ready for their coming three-game series against Grambling State, Jennings’ remarks reflect the team’s mindset. The Lady Jaguars are focusing their energies on intensive practice sessions and calculated planning as they want to redeem themselves.
