Deciding to transfer schools is a heavy choice, but deciding to go pro is a life-changing choice. Both decisions can impact one’s life either for the better or worse. Most athletes go pro before finishing school, especially when that is their goal. Some make the decision based on their backgrounds, wanting to retire their mothers or other family relatives. Some decide based on wanting to start their professional careers early, which can either help them or hurt them mentally or physically. Some even come from a background where one of their parents or other family members played professional sports. We all know who LeBron James is, but even more so the eldest son, Lebron “Bronny” James Jr., who was a standout athlete in high school. The young star was an athletic guard in high school, which led to him signing with the University of Southern California. He previously just finished up his freshman season with the Trojans. By his father being the legend and icon that he is all over the world, expectations and standards are sky high for the young king in his early career. Recently, Bronny James not only entered his name in the transfer portal, but he also declared for the 2024 NBA Draft. Even though the young king didn’t have the ideal freshman season of an NBA prospect, he still possesses the athletic ability to ball out on the court and be a team player and leader. He also has the guidance of his father, Lebron James, to help him out throughout his transfer portal and draft process. It was already foreseen years back that Bronny was probably going to be one and done because his father said he was not retiring until he and his son shared the floor. The stakes are high for Bronny. Will he stay at USC, transfer to another school, or will he carry on the James legacy and go pro early? Many fans are excited about what the future holds.
