State FarmBayou Classic lovers came out to enjoy the concert portion of Fan Festivalpresented by New Orleans radio station Hot 104.5 in front of the Louisiana Superdome at 10 a.m., butdue to weather complications the event was rescheduled to 2 p.m.
“We came outthis morning and it was raining and the engineers couldn’t set up while it wasraining so we had to post pone til 2 p.m.,” said Grand Hussle, 104.5 assistantpromotions director.
DJ’srepresenting both Southern University and Grambling University were present tohost the event. They were DJ Jigga JT, L Boogie, DJ Wop and DJ Rajsmoove.
Even thoughfans would be able to enjoy the concert at 2 p.m., it coincided with the BayouClassic game, which began at 1 p.m.
“Its stillgoing to have a major impact,” Grand Hussle said. “We have a lot of heavyhitters.”
Artistscheduled to perform were Kid, Naam Brigade, Guerilla Black, Dem Franchiseboys, 6 shot, Hot Boy Ronald, Nivea, Slim Thug, Mannie Fresh, 8 Ball & MJG,Xzibit, Mario, and Lil Wayne.
Though therewas a long range of performers scheduled to perform, a lot of fans were anxiousto see New Orleans native Lil Wayne.
”I’m most excited to see Lil Waynebecause I like his music,” Ashley Montz said.
Bryant Wright,an SU student felt the same way, “Lil Wayne is the biggest performer becausehe’s the hottest thing out right now.”
