Welcome to another award winning year with The Southern DIGEST!
It has never felt so good to be back at Southern University. After experiencing the hustle and bustle of city life, sky high costs of living, and a regional blackout, I have learned to appreciate my Southern roots. There is no place like home.
I have the privilege of serving a second term as Editor In Chief. I would like to thank the Student Publication Board for allowing me to continue to shape The DIGEST into a nationally recognized collegiate publication.
This year is my senior year at SU. I have enjoyed my time here and I plan to leave with a bang. I have devoted three and a half years to The DIGEST and I promise that this will be the best year ever!
The DIGEST has a lot of great things in store for the Southern University community. This year we are delivering twice as much news, sports, and special features in two power-packed issues each week.
Many people don’t understand the power this publication has. It reaches over 9,000 students on campus alone. It is also circulated throughout the Baton Rouge community and mailed to other historically black colleges and universities throughout the country.
Our website, www.southerndigest.com, thousands of hits each week and receives feedback from places as far away as Australia. We have more power than any other student organization on campus. No matter what happens, people will always pick up a copy of The DIGEST.
