Fourteen named to award winning Gold ‘N Bluez

The award winning Southern University Gold’N Bluez Dance Team recently hosted auditions and acquired 14 powerful dancers.
In the spring, the team competed in the 2002 Black College National Championship in Atlanta and took home four titles including first place soloist, third place soloist, and second place dance division.
“The team left a lasting impression on Atlanta,” said Jonas Vanderbilt, choreographer/director.
“Every week someone new calls or writes about the performance. Even other cities have complimented us on a job well done.”
Vanderbilt also said the squad is planning on auditioning for bigger competitions and returning to Atlanta to retrieve what they deserve, first place victories.
Gold’ N Bluez dancers Aneshia Sanders and Dineshia McGill are also members of the NFL Saints “Saintsation” and NBA Hornets “Honeybees,”.
Gold’N Bluez Dance Team is the official basketball dance team for Southern University.
The 2002-03 squad is as follows: Viara Boyd, Danielle Bryant, Tomorrow Colston, Samantha Cyprian, Deco Davis, LaQuinta Gorman, Tyronza Lee, Ashley Lewis, Dineshia McGill, Lisa Porter, Shacrista Rideaux, Jovanti Robinson, Aneshia Sanders, Kejuanna Sibley and Jenesia Welsh.
