Greetings once again Southern University.
I have seven questions for you and seven simple answers.
Neither my questions nor my answers are meant to offend Southern University or give the Athletic Department a hard time. They are merely questions that have been on my mind.
Question number one: Why is it that all 11teams do not have a functioning and up-to-date website provided by Southern? Because of the need for a bigger sports information staff.
Number two: Why was the F.G Clark Activity Center not built to properly house the entire Athletic Department? In the beginning, the space may have sufficed,, but over the years due to the growing popularity of other sports besides football, basketball and baseball, we have simply run out of space; and of course money was an issue.
Question three: Will the athletes ever use the tutors available to them? Even I do not have an answer for that one.
Four: Why did it take the men’s basketball team so long to start working together? They realized they had to work together in order to win.
Number five: Will the top grade facilities promised to this university be ready by the time my grandchild attends Southern? Only time will tell that story.
Question six: Why do people think athletes have it so good? Being an athlete is a full-time job with no pay.
And finally number seven: Why does the student body continue to patronize only the big name sports? Society has brainwashed us into believing that women’s sports and other sports such as golf and tennis are not important.
These are only MY answers to these questions. If you have any real answers to these questions, feel free to e-mail the Sports Dept. of The Southern DIGEST at [email protected].
