January 25-26 the Southern University bowling team bowled their last home match this season against Arkansas-Pine Bluff and Grambling State University.
The Jags prevailed winning both games giving the team a record of (4–0) at home. The Jags defeat UAPB and GSU by over 900 pins.
“They bowled as expected against UAPB; they were awesome against GSU,” said head coach Karen Couvillion. “The girls bowled the best I have ever seen them.” They worked as a team against both teams, which contributed to the two great victories.
“I felt that it was a good game; we played hard and had fun,” said Leigh Buickerood. In the singles games Buickerood bowled a 660 averaging 220 pins a game. Doubles team Michele Rangel and Lyndsey Stewart bowled a winning doubles game with 1290 pins. Stewart in doubles bowled an award winning game of 706 pins due to her two 279 games.
“I had a wonderful four at bowling on the team and I am proud of how the girls have progress and come together,” said Rangle.
Rangle was elated to end her home season with two blowout games.
The team will be traveling to Las Vegas, Nevada to bowl in the Sam’s Town Shootout January 28-29.
