In life, “man” is dead wrong about certain things. Yet, in “man” I have noticed a common folly. Instead of admitting these wrongs and trying to develop a better knowledge of reality, as a cushion to his own misguided conscious, “he” has a tendency to lean on his own contrived ideas and personal feelings and not submit himself to true understanding.
This is the main, if not “THE” reason that there are so many twisted belief systems and doctrines existent in the world today.
Look at the religious world. It is like fast food. If you don’t like the “food” served in this religious group, you can go right next door to another religion and try what they’re serving.
How convenient for “man” to be able to attend the “church of choice.” Yet and still, there’s only ONE God, ONE way he expects us to live, and ONE “Word” God sent to save “man.” There’s also only ONE Heaven and ONE Hell, and unfortunately, there will be more people in ONE than the other ONE.
I am not trying to preach a sermon and I’m not even trying to talk about right-or-wrong religions right now. My point is that with all this religious misunderstanding, “man” has a tendency to take God and Jesus to play with.
Answer me this. Why do these self-proclaimed “thug” rappers thank God for what He has “supposedly” done for them and their careers during their interviews and on award shows.
Regardless of the profanity expressed in a song, or the sexual immorality they promote in a video, it’s always “give it up to God for makin’ this happen.” I guess it was good for Destiny’s Child to let us know they won’t “compromise their Christianity” on “Survivor”, but I don’t know any “bootyliscious” followers of Christ.
Speaking of “compromise.” I think it’s only a matter of time before we see a P Diddy remix to a Kirk Franklin track. I guess Gospel with a secular twist is the new trend in music.
I’m still outraged with Jay-Z for refering to himself as “J-Hova”(Jehovah, get it?). I mean isn’t that God’s name? But it’s not just him, because there are a million falible men who refer to themselves as “Reverend” and “Father.” Like those are MERELY titles like “Dr.” I though the Bible said “call NO MAN father.” But “man” wears that name like a FUBU outfit.
The point is, WE (myself included because I’m not “holier” than anyone) throw God’s name in anything and everything like it’s a joke and WE tend to play with Him as such by many of our actions.
It’s easy for us to take Him and His son for play because WE weren’t there when Jesus was hanging on a cross with nails in His hands and feet while an angry mob of people screamed “CRUCIFY HIM!”
But think about it like this: Everytime WE do things contrary to God’s will, WE put His son right back on that cross, and WE are a part of that angry mob screaming “CRUCIFY HIM!”
If you have a watch on your wrist, put it up to your ear and think about this, while we THINK we’re playin’ with God, the clock is steadily tickin’ and His son is on His way back. Time is runnin’ out. Each second is a footstep. Can you hear them?
