In the sports-related aspect of campus, the Southern University soccer teams have received their first SWAC victory of the year. During this season the Jaguars have been looking for opportunities to earn a position for the SWAC tournament later this Fall. This past week the Jaguars played against the Golden Eagles of the Arkansas Pine Bluff in the Pumphrey Stadium. The Golden Eagles had started strong in the first half of the game but were soon overtaken by the Jaguars. Through amazing offensive and defensive plays from the Jaguars, they were able to show why they’ve gained this win. The Jaguars are looking to maintain their success as they play against Mississippi Valley State in Jaguar Park on October 25.
