Nerjyzed Entertainment, LLC is offering summer and full-time employment to students looking for a career in the gaming industry.
Nerjyzed, the former Dallas based video game development and publishing company founded in 2003, is looking for Southern University students to work in the gaming industry in the training program. In partnership with the Louisiana Department of Economic Development Corp, Nerjyzed has designed a two-year specialized training program for the citizens of Louisiana.
According to Jacqueline S. Beauchamp, founder, CEO and chairman of Nerjyzed, the mission is to publish and produce the most energetic and exciting high quality 3-D animations and video games.
The animations are aimed at all genders and ages in the urban market. Nerjyzed is offering animations available for the XBOX 360 and Playstation 2 consoles.
“We are looking for qualified candidates to place them in on the job training,” Beauchamp said.
The Nerjyzed Workforce Training Program is designed to recruit, employ, train and develop proficient video game professionals for the company’s development workflow with the city of Baton Rouge.
The key training areas include game design, game developing/programming, art and animation, audio production and testing.
Students will get training in many aspects of the gaming industry and will have an opportunity to get a full-time position. Engineering, computer science, music and fine arts majors along with experienced gamers are encouraged to apply.
“By working at Nerjyzed, a student can expand and grow their craft and also learn the functional aspects of the company,” Beauchamp said.
Beauchamp, a Southern alumnus, received an honors bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering with a minor in compute science and mathematics.
“It’s amazing how you can come back to your roots,” she said.
According to Beauchamp, Nerjyzed was named because they wanted something creative and funky that represented the energy that they were looking for.
Currently, Nerjyzed is working on producing interactive games and animation in sports and action genres. They are also working with a third-party to provide educational games. More information and an application can be found on the Nerjyzed website at www.nerjyzed.com.
