Roger Whitlock is a junior electrical engineering major from Gonzales, who has attained a competitive cumalative grade point average of 3.8. Whitlock has participated in indoor, outdoors and Cross-Country track; he has been participating in this program for two years. When asked how he feels about the track program he responded, “The program is great, wonderful with great coaches.”
Whitlock has received numerous awards both athletically and academically, one of which was a first time ever presented award by the Southern University Athletic Department. That particular award was called the Platinum Scholar Award where Whitlock was one of two athletes who received this award.
Words of advice from Mr. Whitlock, ” Keep a hunger for constant improvement. You have your good days and your bad days, but you can get through them and be the best you can be. That is all you can do.”
Hats off to Roger for juggling athletics and academics and excelling at both. Congratulations!
