Al’Trevion Joubert, junior wide receiver for the Southern University Jaguars, was all set to return to the field after missing the first two games of the season due to an injury to his knee. However, in the wake of last week’s tragedy, Joubert’s return was pushed back another week.
During the 2000 season, Joubert one of Southern’s leading receivers had 52 catches for 580 yards and three touchdowns. While the rest of his team was on the field hard at work, Joubert was hard at work rehabbing his knee and getting himself back in shape.
“I have been out for a while and I am just excited to return to the team,” said Joubert when asked how he felt about his return.
“Now that I am back I just want to contribute to the team and help as I always have.”
But, Joubert is ready to return to action, on Saturday against the Hornets of Alabama State University.
“I feel good about my recovery and I am just happy to be back on the field participating with the team,” said Joubert.
Head coach Pete Richardson agrees that Joubert may be ready, but knows this is a wait and see situation.
“Al’Trevion has been practicing hard, taking hits, and is back up to speed, but Saturday’s game will tell if he is ready to return to the game,” said Richardson.
