The Southern University System Foundation will hold the 13th annual Southern University Radiothon in the Smith-Brown Memorial Union on Friday, October 5, 2001 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Guaranty Broadcasting Company will air the live broadcast on two of its stations WJNH FM 107.3 and WZRB FM 104.5.
System President Leon R. Tarver will kick off the day’s festivities with an on-air interview followed by Baton Rouge Campus Chancellor Edward R. Jackson and Law Center Interim Chancellor Washington Marshall. Student leaders, community business owner and alumni are also scheduled to participate.
Last year the Southern University System Foundation raised $1,961,893.42.
The Southern University Radiothon began 12 years ago and was broadcasted on KQXl 106.5. Through the years, this annual event had procreated millions of dollars each year for the Southern University system.
