“We had a successful meet,” said Coach Johnny Thomas. ”A good meet to prepare us for next week’s title meet.”
SU’s men and women prevailed over the runners of MVSU. Southern scored a perfect fifteen points.
In the women’s three-mile run Rayla Hunt ran a 19.28.
“It was a good course and the weather was good for the team,” said Rayla Hunt.
For the men’s five-mile run, Chibale Bandele led with a 28.04 time.
“Chibale is still stepping up as the leader of the team, he has ran well the last few meets,” said Thomas. “We need to get more help from Whitlock, Cumpe and Cave if we are going to be competitive at SWAC.”
The Southwestern Athletic Conference Cross-country Championship is set to be held in Lorman, Mississippi, November 5.
“We are not quire ready for SWAC but, we are still getting our ring sizes together just in case,” said Bandele.
