Welcome to another edition of the “G” Way.
Well the school semester is winding down and we only have two weeks left to deliver the news as it happens to students of Southern University.
I don’t have much to talk about this week so I’ve decided to hand out a few awards that I have entitled the Straight “G” Awards.
These awards go out to people who have made a lasting impression in my mind this past semester. Now keep in mind as you read this impressive list that I have made that not all awards are good.
G of the year- Well that’s me of course.
Most improved G- George W. Bush. I am enjoying the way he’s handling this Taliban situation.
Most Hated G- Osama bin Ladin. The T- shirts say it all: bin Ladin wanted dead or alive.
O.G. Award- Ben Jobe. (For being the man he is)
The False Suit Award goes to Joel Porter’s puppets for filing a fake lawsuit against SU history professor Ms. Freeman.
The I’ll Complain But I Won’t Show Up Award goes to every student who complains about SUPD but didn’t show up at the SUPD forum.
The Hurry Up Award goes to the rest of the dorms on campus getting cable.
Will You Please Make a Field Goal Award- Francisco Villagrano (or punt the ball over 28 yards.)
Watch Your Mouth Award goes to Derrick Claville’s mother for cursing out reporters after the end of the trial.(including our own news editor).
What Are You Talking About Award goes to Niqueta Williams for writing an editorial in the sports section that wasn’t dealing with sports.
The Bone crushing Hit of the Year goes to Robert Chapman for that hit he delivered to that FAMU running back.
The Get Well Soon Award goes to- Janene Tate (our A&E editor).
The Please Win SWAC Award goes to- The football team.
Last but not least I would like to give The Best Boss Award to my boss Editor in Chief- Brandi Jade Thomas.
