The current phase of the chancellor search includes solidifying a list interviewing questions, deciding on how many of the 27 applicants will be interviewed and actually notifying and interviewing those approved applicants said Ralph Slaughter, Southern University System President.
The list of interview questions were comprised of questions presented by administrative, faculty, staff and students during their respective forums, in addition to questions submitted by each committee member as well, excluding Slaughter.
The President said that he wanted a broad representation on the 25-member committee that included, but not limited to, nine faculty members, representing each college on campus, three students, three staff members and community leaders.
“Community leaders like the president of the BESE board, president of Coca-Cola, who contributes a significant amount of money to Southern and president of Women’s Hospital, who hire so many of our nursing graduates.”
Slaughter said once every applicant has been notified, the interviewing process will begin. Check the website for the interview dates that are open to the public said Slaughter. These applicants, he noted, are diverse and have a depth of experience, education and skills.
