Southern University’s annual Miss Southern pageant was held Thursday, April 10, at the F.G. Clark Activity Center.
Current Miss Southern University, Jasmine Smutherman hosted the event along with current SGA President Carey Ash.
There were over 1,400 students and affiliates of the university in attendance at this year’s pageant, according to Terral Jackson, director of the Smith-Brown Memorial Union.
The atmosphere was exiting and energetic. The crowd reacted to the music and the performances from the ladies accordingly.
Mrs. Twyana Cain, director of student programs, enjoyed the “great atmosphere,” she explained. “Everyone is enjoying themselves and being very supportive of the ladies,” she added.
