Southern University’s softball player Jasmone Williams was named co-player of the week in the Southwestern Athletic conference.
In three games versus Texas Southern University this past weekend Williams went 3 for 9 with three home runs and five RBI’s. She completed her best weekend of her career by finishing game one 1 for 3 with one home run and two RBI’s. In game two the Carthage, Texas native hit two home runs, her first multiple home run game of her career. She ended the contest with three RBI’s and two runs. Game three was not so good for Williams as she injured her hand in the first inning.
The two year starter is currently hitting a team leading .344 with 31 hits, 21 runs, six doubles, four triples, five home runs and 25 RBI’s.
