Elijah Precciely, an eight year old student who has begin taking classes at Southern University, gave a sermon on November 15.
“The title of my message is Gods Speed, I will read from First Kings chapter 18,” said Precciely. The moral of the sermon focused on God’s speed, having faith in God and having a relationship with God. Starting at the age of one, Precciely’s mom knew that he would be something special.
When asked how she felt about having such an intelligent son his mother Pamela Precciely responded saying.
“We knew that we had been teaching him different things, but we didn’t know that he was grasping things at such a swift pace,” said Precciely.
At just 18 months, his teachers contacted his mother and father informing them that there was nothing more they could teach him, and that he had to be moved to the next level. That’s when it clicked, her son was going to take her on a ride.
“He was always asking questions,” said Precciely.
With the help of Dr Diola Bagayoko, professor and chair of the SU Physics Department, Precciely was granted permission to attend classes at Southern University. To many it may seem strange that an 8 year old is in college, but to his parents, they’re just happy that their son now has the necessary resources to enable him to learn more.
Precciely loves science, history, and God. Precciely is an active member in both his church and the Elect Generation of God and always participates in bible study. When asked how he felt about becoming a jaguar, he simply replied
“By the grace of God”
His mother calls him a prophet, and believes her son is here to prophesy through his inventions and science. Precciely’s thoughts, sketches, and inventions are all way ahead of this time. Most of the technology that he wants to use hasn’t even been invented yet. His main goal is to help others around him.
Even though Precciely is wise beyond his years, the youth and fun filled childhood aspect of him showed when he handed out candy to everyone at the end of service.
