Spring 2024 – Miss Krimson & Kreme Pageant

The suave gentlemen from The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated organized the 2024-2025 Miss Krimson and Kreme Scholarship Pageant. The NUPE School Musikal edition event consisted of four rounds: Southern Spirit, Swimsuit, Talent, & Formal.
Amya Winborne, a junior majoring in nursing, graciously shared her experiences and reflections as the esteemed Miss Krimson and Kreme for the 2023-2024 academic year. “My experience being Miss Krimson and Kreme was amazing. It has exposed me to numerous opportunities. It is a great privilege for me to hand over my crown. Good luck to the next Miss Krimson and Kreme!”
Contestant #1: Destini Jackson, a junior studying Business Management from Monroe, Louisiana, was the initial participant to grace the stage. Not only did she captivate the audience with her striking appearance and physique, but she also emanated an air of self-assurance, leaving the audience intrigued by her enigmatic aura.
Contestant #2: Jaci Fortenberry, a freshman from San Diego, California, studying nursing, was next after Jackson. She radiated a charming cowgirl aura and the vibrant enthusiasm of a schoolgirl.
Contestant #3: Sage Valley, a sophomore majoring in nursing from Lafayette, Louisiana, possessed an elegant and sophisticated demeanor, embodying a fusion of Beyonce and Rihanna.
Contestant #4: Shaniquica Frazier, a Business Management major from Coushatta, Louisiana, radiated a strong and lively aura. She identified herself as a chocolate Barbie in a Barbie world with a pink flair, embodying authentic Southern charm.
Contestant #5: Kynnedi Jackson, a senior Mass Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations, stood out with her exceptional confidence in embracing her plus-size figure, making her a fan favorite.
Contestant #6: Aaliyah Payne, a senior majoring in Fashion Merchandising, Design, and Textiles with a minor in Business Management from Memphis, TN, displayed her expertise and enthusiasm for crochet round for round.
Contestant #7: Kaylyn Hayes, a freshman Mass Communications major with a concentration in Broadcast Journalism from Dallas, Texas, demonstrated that her compassion is the sole driving force behind her passion and showcased an extraordinary talent for singing and dancing—just one night was enough to prove it!
The night was filled with music, line dancing, and laughter thanks to the intrigue of audience engagement. Shockingly, the pageant surpassed its maximum capacity, resulting in students being unable to gain entry.
The audience was delighted by the excellent intermission by the pretty boys strolling smoothly. The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated showcased their Kappa League, where the young men delivered an engaging performance that had the audience on their feet. Stomp ‘n’ Shake Cheer Team, Code Blue put on an energetic intermission performance that had the audience on their feet with excitement.
After the judges deliberated for the Formal round – Contestant #5, Kynnedi Jackson was voted as Miss Congeniality and 1st Runner Up. And long behold, Freshman, Kaylyn Hayes was announced and crowned as the winner of the chapter’s 2024-2025 Miss Krimson and Kreme.
Moments after the celebration and cheers from support Hayes expressed, “It’s a great honor. I’m shocked beyond belief. I believed that nothing could stop me, not even as a freshman. Great things are on the horizon, and I’m proud of myself. I appreciate the judges, the student body, and The Alpha Sigma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi for selecting me; I promise not to disappoint you. I plan to organize and carry out projects for the Department of mass communication.”
JaiMarco Major, President of the Alpha Sigma Chapter, provided further insight into the selection process for the pageant contestants. “We just wanted to select the classic females to represent our chapter when selecting the candidates. Each year, Miss Kreme & Kreme is one of the biggest pageants. All the love and support we have received has our sincere gratitude and appreciation,” Major said.
The Miss Krimson and Kreme pageant served as the ultimate destination.
