Senior defensive specialist Zion Robinson makes a serve during the game versus Alabama A&M at Seymour Gym on Sunday, November 16, 2025.
Shaking off the loss from their last time out, the Lady Jaguars looked to send their seniors off on a high note in their last home game against Alabama A&M. The stage was set for both teams with energy transferring from the bench to the stands, and both teams fed off that. The Bulldogs were feeling it early, especially with them coming off a big win in their last match up, they had their eyes set on putting the lady Jaguars away early. They would go on to win the first set 25-19, really taking advantage of Southern’s mistakes and utilizing their game plan against the lady Jaguars.
In the second set, Southern was picking up the pace with their attacks, but were still working out the kinks in terms of attack errors, which would also be a factor in Alabama A&M’s second win of the match.
This is where things would take a turn, going into the third set, with the Bulldogs being comfortable, the lady Jaguars would see their vulnerability and pounce on it. Junior outside hitter Ariana Brown came up with 3 back-to-back kills, along with the attack error, to lock in their win.
Going into the fourth set, they kept the ball rolling. Starting hot with a kill by Freshman middle blocker Sophie Diouf, setting the tone for the Lady Jaguars. This would shake up the Bulldogs with the dagger kill by Senior setter Jordan Felix, and they would end up losing another set to Southern.
The final set had the fans at the edge of their seats, with Alabama A&M holding on for dear life to go back to Huntsville with a win, but they would slim their chances by getting an attack error, putting the Jaguars up by 1, making the score 14-13, with that Senior setter Jordan Felix putting them away with a service ace to finish out the game, putting the Lady Jags back on top.
