A’ja Wilson has taken her play and the Las Vegas Aces to a whole new level. This season, Wilson led her team to what many are calling a modern “three-peat” while collecting a heap of individual honors along the way. It’s not just another championship it’s the kind of season that builds legends.
This year under Wilson’s leadership the Aces clinched their third WNBA title in four years, sweeping the Phoenix Mercury in the Finals cementing their status as a true dynasty in the league. Wilson carried the team with a dominant 31-point, 9-rebound performance in the clinching Game 4, earning her Finals MVP hono
rs for the second time in her career. She also made WNBA history by becoming the first player ever to win MVP, Defensive Player of the Year, Scoring Title, and Finals MVP all in the same season. Wilson captured her fourth MVP award, putting her ahead of legends in the record books, and earned her third Defensive Player of the Year title. She was once again a unanimous pick for the All-WNBA First Team, proving her dominance on both ends of the floor.
But A’ja Wilson’s greatness extends far beyond the basketball court. Off the court, she continues to be a role model, businesswoman, and advocate for change. In 2022, she released her best-selling book Dear Black Girls, where she opens up about her struggles, self-confidence, and the importance of embracing identity. Through her writing and her words, she encourages young women, especially young Black girls to be proud of who they are and to never let fear stop them from achieving greatness.
Wilson also founded the A’ja Wilson Foundation, which raises awareness for dyslexia and provides resources to students and families dealing with learning disabilities. Having faced dyslexia herself, she’s turned her personal challenges into a mission to help others. Beyond that, she has been a vocal advocate for equal pay and visibility in women’s sports, using her platform to push for fair treatment and representation for WNBA athletes.
What makes A’ja Wilson so inspiring is that her impact isn’t limited to trophies or stats it’s about how she uses her success to lift others up. Whether she’s blocking shots on the court or breaking barriers off of it, Wilson continues to redefine what it means to be a champion. Her 2025 season solidified her legacy as one of the greatest players in WNBA history, but her heart, leadership, and purpose make her even more unforgettable.
