BATON ROUGE—Southern University’s Career Services Center hosted its highly anticipated Spring 2025 Career Fair, bringing together over 90 companies and more than 700 students eager to jump-start their careers. The event, a staple of the university’s biannual career exploration weeks, provided students with direct access to recruiters offering job and internship opportunities across various industries.
For the first time ever, the career fair featured a major Wi-Fi upgrade, ensuring students and staff had seamless connectivity throughout the event. This improvement follows the Fall 2023 Wi-Fi outages and technical difficulties in the F.G. Clark Activity Center, which previously posed challenges for digital access during large-scale events. The upgrade allowed attendees to utilize Handshake, research employers, and network without disruptions.
Since 2018, the Handshake app has connected Southern students with over 15,000 employers, solidifying its role as a vital tool for career advancement. Students were encouraged to leverage this platform while maintaining strong GPAs and utilizing the Career Services Center for professional development.
To stay updated on future career fairs and opportunities, students should follow @southernu_osm on social media and visit the Career Services Center for ongoing job connections and career resources.
