In the policereport, a deputy of the East Baton Sheriff’s Department reported that heremembered seeing a white Ford Contour come through checkpoint at the back ofcampus during the time of this incident. After viewing surveillance footage, hebelieved this was the suspects’ mode of transportation. The subjects in thevehicle presented a Southern University identification card upon passing theofficer at the post.
“That isprotocol,” Flowers said about the subject showing identification. “If someoneshows proper identification or has a registered car (with the university), hecan proceed to the back of campus. If he is not a student, he must show adriver’s license, state his destination and allow the officers to document thecar’s tag.”
