The American Urban Radio Network has named eight Southwestern Athletic Conference football players to its 2003 SBN All-American Team. Additionally, Southern University Jaguars starting quarterback Quincy Richard and head coach Pete Richardson were named offensive player of the year and coach of the year, respectively.
In addition to Richard, Jaguars’ defensive back Lenny Williams and offensive linemen Arnold Sims and Miniya Smith were added to the team.
Wide receiver Tramon Douglas of Grambling State University while the remaining SWAC players came from Alabama A&M University, Alabama State University and Alcorn State University.
The team will be honored during the 30th SBN Black College All-American Awards on February 12 at the New York Sheraton Hotel and Towers in New York City.
