While still in mourning from the on-campus death of cafeteria worker Shirley Dantzler, faculty, staff and students of Southern University were surprised to learn of the sudden death of Betty Adams, head resident of Ollie B. Moore Hall.
Adams, a 30-year employee of Southern University, suffered a massive heart attack in her on-campus suite located in the lobby of Moore Hall.
According to Barbara Campbell, director of Camille Shade Hall, Adams was not feeling well at breakfast. Later that morning she told Campbell that she was feeling warm, sweating profusely and had chest pains.
She was pronounced dead at Earl K. Long Hospital.
Adams is survived by her three children, Paul Jr. and Paula of Baton Rouge and Mayme of Detroit, her mother, brother and sister.
