While watching the vicepresidential debates last month, I got a true understanding of why this countryis in the shape that it’s in.
Your president George W. Bush and his right hand man Vicepresident Dick Cheney think that they have done nothing, but help the Americanpeople.
I beg to differ.
For instance, how many of usknow someone that is with out a job or who had to miss a year of school for awar that we still haven’t won.
As both Cheney and Senator JohnEdwards debated the issues of jobs, defense, healthcare and education Cheneycould do nothing, but restate the marvelous job that the Bush Administrationhas done to help their constitutions.
He talked about the No ChildLeft Behind Act that was supposed to help bridge the gap so that all Americanchildren could compete in a global economy, but then you look at the reality ofit — even if this plan worked to perfection where would these children competewith the majority of technical jobs being outsourced to places like India?
Edwards brought up theadministration’s record on the fight for terrorism and how the same troops wesend to the Middle East and other locations around the world have to worryabout more than just dying for their country — they also have to worry abouttheir families receiving adequate care from our government.
Another hot subject for debatewas the unifying of our country and how the two major political parties in thiscountry can’t come together on major policy issues.
Once again Cheney side-stepped the question saying hebelieved the only way to correct the divide was to keep working for anotherfour years.
That has got to make you sitback and wonder how the president can unite Congress when his ownadministration has had problems working together, such as the non-partisanintelligence agencies like the CIA and FBI.
I can remember when I was achild and I got into trouble for doing something I had no business doing mymother would “whoop my butt” and send me to my room to think about it. I thinkit’s time that we “whooped” Bush and Cheney by voting against them so they cango to Texas and think about it.
How can you ever change aproblem that you don’t even acknowledge?
I believe that many of us feelthat we have been wronged by the president in the last four years and today, Iplan on letting the Bush Administration know exactly how I feel by giving him awhopping and putting him in time out…of office.
