“A unique date can be your chance to show your date you are adventurous and open-minded,” said Dianna Robinson, a woman who re-entered the dating world later in life.
The type of date that you chose should reflect your own personel style.
For example, if you are an outdoors person you can take your date to drive golf balls at the local golf course.
You can go to the East Baton Rouge Recreational Department driving range and get a bucket of balls for around $25.
Another way to express your personnel style is to involve a physical activity. This could be anything from ice skating at Leo’s Ice Skating Rink on a Saturday afternoon to spending the day at Celebration Station playing putt-putt or racing the go carts.
For those of you that are more incline to a night time activity, you can always explore Baton Rouge’s many night spots.
Visiting a small bar with live music will give you a chance to exhibit your more mature side. Café Reggae offers amateurs a chance to perform at open mike on Wednesday nights and live music throughout the week. It is also has a full bar and Caribbean restaurant.
A sure way to impress any date is to show interest in the fine arts, which are available in many different ways.
The Baton Rouge Symphony will perform “The Mad Hatters Luncheon” on March 22. Student discounts are available for all students with a valid ID.
The Southern University Museum of Art is open Monday through Friday 9 p.m. to 4 p.m. and it is free for all SU students.
A big winner can always be a play.
“A play shows originality and it can show he’s interested in things other than what’s at the movies,” said Maya Laws, a senior at Hood College in Fredrick, Md.
Never forget the classic dates of our youth like video games and bowling.
Metro Bowl on Fridays and Saturdays has Cyber Bowling where the pins and balls are cast in a black light that make them glow.
When choosing a date make sure that you think of things that both of you will enjoy then you won’t go wrong.
“Whenever when I think of new dates, I remember that I want to have fun,” said Brice Hamilton, a senior psychology major from Shreveport.
