Why can’t the Jaguar Nation fill the Minidome like they do A.W. Mumford Stadium?
I asked a couple of friends why they didn’t attend the basketball games and one of them simply said that he couldn’t “get into” the basketball teams.
Most of you couldn’t “get into” the football team when they went 6-6 during the 2002 season and yet, you still tailgated and went to the games.
From what I understand, back in the day, if you came to a basketball game late, you couldn’t get in the Minidome. What happened?
Although Avery Johnson and company aren’t playing anymore, I don’t see why members of the Jaguar Nation can’t come to the game. When Ben Jobe was brought back, fans still came to the game. What happened?
Now that we have a new coach, the least you could do is show support. I don’t know how many times the team has lost by no more than three points and we can’t depend on the “M-9” crowd alone to try and take the opposing team out the game.
Furthermore, why are some of you waiting until 7:30 p.m. to come to the games? Don’t you know that the women play also?
Now I know that some of you have to leave work and change and feed the kids, etc…, but the students who don’t have class have no excuse.
It would be nice to see the cheerleaders cheer for the women’s team also. It wasn’t a problem when Jackie Winfield and company went to Colorado for the NCAA tournament and it shouldn’t be now. They too, need your support.
I am not going to lie, I too, am guilty of not attending games. Sometimes, I just feel that I am too tired. But, as the sports editor and a member of the Jaguar Nation, I should do better-and so should some of you. Let’s pack the Minidome like back in the day. I get tired of seeing the game on television with empty seats.
