Hayden said that he wanted to warnstudents against bogus fliers circulating around campus announcing a Springfestline-up featuring Cam’ron and the Diplomats, Memphis Bleek, The Clipse, LilWayne, Trillville and Eightball & MJG.
“The SGA did not commission UrbanKingz Universal to book our Springfest acts,” Hayden said. “This person has fraudulently used theuniversity’s name.”
After receiving calls from bookingagents, Hayden said he learned that a SU student was saying that they were incharge of booking acts for Springfest. He offered the artists a combined total of nearly $43,000 toperform–more than half the amount SGA budgeted for the show.
“It was clear that he had maliciousintent to fraud the artists and the university,” Hayden said. The scheme is under investigation.
