In life, we have to do certain things in a timely manner as well as be responsible for the things that we do. So why is it that when we are asked to do certain things, we like to make excuses for them?
That’s not good business. In everything that we do in our daily lives there is a certain way that we need to carry and present ourselves. If you want something, go after it. If you want to accomplish certain goals, go for them.
For some odd reason, we tend to have our friends do it or either we do not conduct ourselves in a business-like manner. That is something that will hurt you in the long run. If you’re conducting yourself without the proper business mindset then you’re just doing “bad business.”
When you come to class late, turn in your assignments late or miss class, then you’re only making yourself look bad. If you’re doing those things now or when you get in the workforce, you will probably do the same thing. You can get a brand new job and move to a new city, but all of your old ways and habits come right along with you. So you will probably come to work late, miss deadlines, make excuses and that’s unacceptable because you will get the pink slip in a heartbeat.
So the next time that you think about missing class or being late, look at how many times that you have turned in assignments late.
If you have a constant pattern of being late, then you may need to re-evaluate yourself and see what you can do to maybe change that pattern. If you look back and see that you have completed all of your assignments on time and that you rarely missed class, then you will have a great work ethic. That will be a real asset to you in the future.
