The Reverend Al Sharpton will be speaking in Baton Rouge at the Lincoln Theatre on February 22.
The founder of the National Action Network and the National Youth Movement will speak on the issues affecting American and African-American issues.
“We’re bringing Al Sharpton to Baton Rouge because we want to hear a well-known civil rights activist that cares and is concerned about the state of the nation that we live in,” said Ted Jemison, president of the Lincoln Theatre Group. “He speaks on issues that America faces in the new millennium. We also want to hear his perspective of the 2004 presidential card and the impact that he feels he can make as a presidential candidate.”
The theater will be accepting donations of ten dollars in advance for admissions and the event will start at 7 p.m.
The Lincoln Theatre is located at 1305 Myrtle Street. For more information, call (225) 242-9083.
