The SU baseball team completed their season in the NCAA Regionals falling to Tulane University eliminating themselves from the tournament. However, that was the lowest point of the entire season. They finished the season with a 45-10 overall record, going 25-3 in the Southwestern Athletic Conference. All-tournament honors went to Rickie Weeks, Fernando Pueblo, Antoin Gray, Joey Mounton, Fred Lewis, Josef Rankin and Eric Thomas. Honors for top defender went to Pueblo, top pitcher Rakin and Weeks garnered top hitter and most outstanding player honors. Southern University head coach Roger Cador received the SWAC Coach of the Year award.
